How To Brand Your Etsy Shop
What Is Branding?

Let’s get this out of the way, branding doesn’t mean logo design.

One of the common misconceptions about branding is that it only includes the visual elements like logo, business card and packaging. But branding is much more than that.

Branding could be a confusing concept and not every person will give you the same definition.

At Growing Your Craft, branding is the process of shaping and communicating a specific message at every touchpoint with your target customers, so that you can influence their perception towards your brand.

Branding helps your business to stand out in the market and be more desirable to your customers. Branding is the process to enhance how customers see you and make them want your products/services more.

It’s a comprehensive concept and affects every aspect of your business, from the visual elements like logo and colours, to the invisible assets like brand identity and brand voice.

Every interaction counts. We call any interaction that may change how customers feel about your product and brand a touchpoint. Here are some examples:

  • Seeing your Etsy listing
  • Reading and liking your instagram post
  • Unpacking their orders
  • Messaging on Etsy
  • And many more

And through all of these interactions, we try to present the brand to be unique and desirable with branding.

Before we dive into the steps, let’s look at why branding is so important.
