How To Use This Etsy Fees Calculator?
This Etsy Fee & Profit Calculator shows every fee Etsy takes from a sale and how much profit you actually keep. The results update as you type and are laid out like a receipt, so you can see exactly where your money goes.
- Enter your sale. Add your item price, how many items are in the order, and the shipping you charge the buyer (enter 0 for free shipping). If the buyer used a sale or coupon, add the discount percentage. It's applied to the item price, not shipping.
- Enter your costs. Add what it costs you to make each item, including materials and packaging, and what you pay for the shipping label.
- Choose whether the sale came from an Offsite Ad. Turn this on to add the Offsite Ads fee. Pick 15% if your shop made less than $10,000 in the last 12 months, or 12% if it made more.
- Open More options if you need them. Add sales tax, your Etsy Ads spend per sale, the 2.5% currency conversion fee, or a different payment processing rate if you're outside the US.
- Read your results. The receipt shows your order total, each Etsy fee, your costs, and what you keep, with your profit margin. Below it, you'll see:
- your break-even price
- the price you'd need for a 30% profit margin
- how much you'd keep if the sale came from an Offsite Ad

How Are The Etsy Fees Calculated?
Etsy charges the following fees on every sale (all values in USD):
- Listing fee: $0.20 per listing. It's charged when you publish a listing and when it renews after four months. It's also charged each time an item sells from a listing with more than one in stock. The calculator counts $0.20 for each item sold.
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of the order total after discounts, including shipping, personalisation and gift wrapping.
- Payment processing fee: 3% + $0.25 per order for US sellers, charged on the total including sales tax. Rates are slightly different in other countries.
- Offsite Ads fee: 15% or 12% of the order total when a buyer clicks one of your ads outside Etsy and buys within 30 days. It's capped at $100 per order. You can only opt out if your shop made less than $10,000 in the last 12 months.

Approximately What Percentage Does Etsy Take For Each Sale?
For most sales that don't come from an Offsite Ad, Etsy takes about 10–12% of the order total. That's 9.5% of the order plus $0.45 in fixed fees. For example, on a $25 item with $5 shipping, Etsy's fees come to $3.30, or 11% of the $30 order.
Because of the fixed $0.45, smaller orders lose a bigger share: on a $5 order, fees are about 18%. If a sale comes from an Offsite Ad, Etsy's cut of that same $30 order rises to around 23–26%, depending on your ad rate.
