Optimise Your Listings Before Holiday Rush

Photos

Make sure your photos are clear, sharp and with a background that is not distracting.

One place to get inspiration for eye-catching product photos is actually on Etsy. Put in the keyword that your product is targeting, and see how the bestselling product photos look.

You can also add text to your product photos like this to help customers understand your products more easily. Learn how to do that here

Titles & Tags

For your titles, you should put the most descriptive keyword at the front of your title. Also make sure that your keyword is long-tail (about 2-5 words long), so that you can find more targeted shoppers with lower competition.

You can also add sales event specific keywords to your bestselling listings. For example, “Black Friday Sale”, “Cyber Monday Sale”, “Boxing Day Sale”, “End Of Year Sale”, etc

Include Black Friday Promotion Insert In Orders At Least 1 Month Prior

A month before your BFCM sale, you can include an insert in your orders, so that customers who received the order have incentive to come back to check out your sale.

You can include a thank you card with the BFCM sale details. Here are a few things you can include:

  • Offer of the sale (e.g. 30% off all items)
  • Discount code if you have any
  • Sale period (start and end dates)
  • Mention that it will be the biggest sale of the year

Include Christmas/New Year Promotion Insert In Black Friday Orders

Similarly, because BFCM is so close to the Christmas/New Year sale, it makes sense to include an order insert in your BFCM orders to entice your customers to come back for Christmas sale.

Have Commonly Asked Questions & Answers Ready

Other than including them in your listing description and shop announcement, you can saved them as Saved Reply templates in Etsy messages as many shoppers don’t read listing description. Some common questions:

  • When will it be shipped
  • How long will the sale last
  • What’s your return policy
  • Do you offer gift wrapping
